Lost Lake District

Beautiful Lost Lake is located in the heart of the Wisconsin headwaters in St. Germain, Wisconsin.  Its 542 acres of clear blue water offer abundant outdoor recreation opportunities for all.  Whether you are an angler, water sports enthusiast or a naturalist who loves to hear the call of the loon after midnight or see an eagle snag a fish from the water, Lost Lake has what you are looking for.

The Lost Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District (LLPRD) was formed in 2012 by a majority vote of all lake property owners and the Vilas County board of supervisors.  As its name implies, the LLPRD was formed to protect and rehabilitate (if necessary) Lost Lake.  Financially speaking, a lake district is better able to fund large dollar amount expenditures such as aquatic invasive species abatement or repair of the dam serving Lost Lake.  Interesting enough, one year after the lake district was formed, the aquatic invasive species Eurasian water milfoil was found in Lost Lake.  It appears the lake district was formed just in time.

The LLPRD holds an annual meeting each summer that lake property owners are encouraged to attend and vote on the budget and other issues before the board.  In addition, the Board of Commissioners meets quarterly to carry out the business of the district.  All lake property owners and others are encouraged to attend these meetings too.
